Welcome to Consigned To Oblivion!

We at Slissy International Industries have decided that the extreme underground music scene has been overlooked for too long. There are many followers of bands that cannot gain access to things such as reviews and interviews for bands that most likely have NO promotion or distribution whatsoever. Therefore, we have made this site to begin archiving these amazing bands that need more attention as well as a presence. So take your time browsing through this site, you will end up exposed to groups that you never knew existed before.

Doc Corbin Dart "Patricia"

Doc Dart's "Patricia" is one of those records that you will love or hate. Most people cannot get behind Doc Darts piercing shrill voice. But to me that is what creates his legend. After many years in the Crucifucks, Doc put out this "solo" release in 1990. This is one of my all time favorite records. I have been listening to it for about 15 years and it has never once gotton stale. Not only does Doc deliver great poetry in his lyrics but the construction of the music goes perfect with his leads. This is not a "punk" album, however that is the closest genre to put it in. It is very musically talented from the song writing to the delivery of the songs. 9 songs and not a weak moment to be found. It is truly a shame that this record among his other releases have gone by the wayside. Enjoy this record and make sure you pay close attention to it. It may just give you a new outlook on life.

Big Mountain - A Native American Resistance Compilation

Big Mountain - A Native American Resistance Compilation

This was a completely random discovery at my record store. I had never heard of this label nor the bands involved. I gave it a quick sample lesson and just had to scoop it up. Native Americans have probably the most right to be punks out of almost all of us. They have been extremely oppressed for so long. It's about time they formed punk bands... Especially angry punk bands. This record is great. It belongs on Profane Existance. However it is extremely limited due to it being put out by R U Dead Music. From what it says on the sleeve only 1000 have been pressed so grab it if you have a chance to. It is worth every penny. These bands need exposure.

F.O.D. "Shatter Your Day"

Flag of Democracy (F.O.D.) has been a long time running and not well known punk band from the east coast. Shatter Your Day was recorded in 1985. The one thing about this record is that not only is it ahead of its time but it stands up to the test of time. This record sounds like the bastard child of the Dead Kennedy's and Propagandhi. This record proves that hardcore can still be fun. F.O.D. has put out many records and not one of them do I feel are not mediocre records. This record is dangerous in that the title is absolutely correct since the opening is on the bottom of the jacket. So if your not careful this record will fall out and "shatter." I love simple gimmicks. This record mixes early thrash punk and melodic hardcore. It isn't for everyone but if you like a unique sound (which is what the early days of punk were all about) then give it a shot. It almost has a party vibe with a mixture of great songwriting and a lighthearted attitude. So here it is... Enjoy!

Party Owls "Why Drag It Out?" LP

The Party Owls hail from Houston. This record was recorded in 1985. The Party Owls deliver just that. Fun punk with saxaphones! I have never heard of this band before I bought this record at my local record store. I listened to it in the store and just had to have this LP. This is another group that goes to show that punk rock doesn't have to be serious. I can just picture those shows, everyone bouncing around drunk, stoned and happy. They even cover Flipper's "Way of the World." This isn't classic punk record but it is damn good. Everyonce in a while we have to step away from the seriousness of hardcore and punk and this record is a great way to escape that punk rock heavy-ness. If you like early Murphy's Law than I sincerely recommend you go out and find this record. They have other releases as well (which I have not heard) so if you cannot find this particular release check out the other LP's and let me know what you think.

Kebab "We Live In A System"

Kebab's "We Live In a System" is another band / LP that I had never heard of until that fateful day at my local favorite record store. Hailing from Belguim Kebab recorded this record in 1981. Kebab was a 4 piece fronted by a  powerful female vocalist. Personally, I am a big fan of early European punk and hardcore. So this record was right up my alley. I could not pass it up. This group had a very Crass records-ish / Slits influence. They also have a slight "new wave" sound, but it doesn't come off with that shit new wave sound that was taking over at this point in punk history. The synth's they use give the sound dark overtones that compliment their political attitude very well.. This is a collection of a previously released, extremely hard to find 7", cassete, and compliation tracks. Overall if your a fan of the early european anarcho punk this record is for you. It can annoy the shit out of anyone who does not like those stylings. Which is exactly what I love about certain punk groups. It is an acquired taste.

Dropdead S/T LP

Personally, I love hardcore that doesn't let up. When you listen to an LP and you feel like your in a fight with a group who does not stop throwing hard and heavy punches that is a record for me. And I know alot of people agree with me. The first time I dropped the needle down on this record I was immediately covered with bruises all over my body. Now that is fukkin hardcore! Dropdead is one of those bands that will not let up. And this LP is a perfect example of just that. Dropdead hails from Rhode Island. This record was recorded in 1993 and was well before its time. Super political, super angry, super fast, super f'n hardcore! Not many bands can play with their amount of force and power. This is certainly a must have LP for anyone who cannot get enough fast, heavy, crusty hardcore. Don't pass up this record if you see it. You will not be disapointed!

Iggy Pop TV Eye 1977 live

A hot find I picked up today Is Iggy's live in 1977 LP. Even though the Stooges aren't playing on this record you'd hardly notice that its not them. They play extremely raw and the quality of the recording is what I'd call "mid-fi." Which actually creates a great energy on this LP. It has some seriously great power to it. The songs were all recorded in Cleveland, KC Missouri, and the Aragon "Brawl-room" in beautiful Chicago.
They play a couple Stooges tracks that certainly hit right on point. The version of "Lust For Life" drives full speed ahead. Iggy, as usual, goes off and changes lyrics throughout this preformance and as expected you wouldn't even know he was doing it. This record isn't necessarily a must have, however, if you are an Iggy or a Stooges fan this is by far (in my opinion) the best live record out there.

Slim Cessna's Auto Club "The Bloudy Tenent of Truth and Peace"

Slim Cessna's Auto Club is one of those bands that crosses many musical boundaries while still hoding onto their roots. Hailing from Colorado, SCAC plays no compromise apocalyptic country punk. This and a few other LP's have been released on Jello's label Alternative Tentacles which is one of the reasons I was drawn to this group. Any country band on a punk label screams "This must be good!" and this group certainly sets the bar high for other groups. They tell stories in their music that can sometimes give goosebumps. Not only do they make amazing records but their live shows are so filled with energy that if they come to play near you, it would be a loss and mistake to miss them. I cannot to forget to mention Munly Munly, who has one of the most intimidating presences I have ever encountered. Munly also puts out his own even darker LP's. This record starts out with one of my all time favorites "This Is How We Do Things In The Country" and refuses to let up throughout the album. All the members in this Slim Cessna's Auto Club are extremely talented at writing and playing music and still do not get the recognition that they truly deserve. That fact is truly a shame. Songs such as "Cranston," "Mark of Vaccination," "Jackson's Hole," "Shady Lane," and "Sour Patch Kids" can send shivers up your spine as well as having you singing along.

Als Je Haar Maar Goed Zit... NR. 2

A long time ago I fell in love with Dutch Punk. And when I went to the Netherlands I was talking with my cousin about this record. It turned out he had it and one day to my surprise it was in my mailbox! I am extremely proud of my Dutch heritage and hearing a Dutch punk compilation from 1983 that blows most bands (that era up till now) out of the water excites me. The Dutch have always been true to the original punk ideals of not copying someone elses sound, and this LP is a prime example of how well they do it. Most people have some familiarity with BGK since they were released on Alternative Tentacles, but there are a bunch of other bands that you probably have not heard on this comp that you will be glad that you gave it a listen. Zmiv has been one of my favorites over the years and they have 3 tracks on this LP that in true Zmiv style rip some serious hardcore (Especially "Loose It"). Null A gives us "Ratz!!" which is one of my favorite tracks on this LP.  Amsterdamned start of side 2 with a blast of power that make you want to hear their tracks over and over. B.G.K. gives us a hell of a track "Cross Criminals" on side 2 as well as Outlawz (Not the rap group) ripping through "Enola Gy / Anyway." It is truly sad that the Dutch do not get the credit they deserve in the punk / hardcore scene and it is even more sad that this record has gone completely under the radar. This is one of my personal favorite complition LP's.

Crime "San Francisco's Still Doomed"

Crime was an extrremle short lived punk rock band. Some of you may have heard or seen clips from their Target Video "Live at San Quentin." This band played a snot filled punk rock and roll with such trashy elegance that they are a hard band to beat. Starting in 1976 their career lasted 5 years, however, this LP covers the first 3 years. This LP has 22 tracks of pure raw punk rock that don't let up. Listening to this record feels like you just finished an 8 hour shift as a garbage man. The trash rock they play leaves you feeling dirty as you work your way through this record. Hailing from San Francisco and dressing as cops Crime was an originator of the gimmick they had. Even their names are punk as fuck; Johnny Strike, Hank Rank, Ron the Ripper and Frankie Fix. Memorable tracks include "Piss On Your Dog" (My personal favorite), "Twisted," "Murder By Guitar,""Instrumental Instrumental," the slow jam "Emergency Music Ward," "Monkey On Your Back," "Hot Wire My Heart" and "Baby, You're So Repulsive."
