This blog is going to surface as the new "MMR" for the internet world. This site is dedicated to bands that do not have the recognition that they deserve. It also serves to give bands an internet presence that might be lacking.
Welcome to Consigned To Oblivion!
We at Slissy International Industries have decided that the extreme underground music scene has been overlooked for too long. There are many followers of bands that cannot gain access to things such as reviews and interviews for bands that most likely have NO promotion or distribution whatsoever. Therefore, we have made this site to begin archiving these amazing bands that need more attention as well as a presence. So take your time browsing through this site, you will end up exposed to groups that you never knew existed before.

Big Black "Songs About Fucking"
Early classic Chicago punk! If you have not heard Big Black this LP will be the perfect way to start. This record proves that you can play incredibly bad ass songs with a drum machine. It is rare that in 1987 a punk band would use a drum machine in the punk scene and have it sound as tremendous as it does. Songs About Fucking is full of classic tracks such as "Colombian Necktie," "Bad Penny," "The Power Of Independant Trucking," "L Dopa," "Fish Fry" and "Bombastic Intro." Dave Henderson of Underground magazine calls it "a napalm attack that sticks to your skin like burning party-jell, spiced with hundreds and thousands, a prickly sensation that's as all-consuming as it is repellent." I couldn't have saaid it better myself.

Negative Approach "Tied Down"
As I was funneling through a record store that popped up out of nowhere a few months back, I ran across this Negative Approach LP in the midst of a bunch of records I wanted no part of. At the glorious price of 8 bucks for a sealed copy I became full of excitement that I was about to become the owner of this record I have always wanted. I shelled out the cash (damn Chicago taxes are ridiculously high), then I raced home so that I can pour myself a glass of wine, open the LP and drop the needle down on it. Recorded in 1983 this LP was the final release by a band who had much to do with the shaping of the early hardcore sound.Only N.A. could deliver the power that they had. John Brannon (Vocals) with his large frame and shaved head was a powerhouse that gave us that now typical hardcore hard-ass stance. Negative Approach as a whole gives us extreme bad-ass hardcore that refuses to hold back on the punches. Tied Down is an unknown classic record full of classic tracks. This record is for hardcore kids and skinheads alike. The noteable tracks on this record are "Nothing (THE skinhead classic which is my favorite cut on this LP)," "Tied Down," "Hypocrite," "Said and Done" and "Your Mistake"

About Me

- Brandon Marlo
- This site is not about me, it is about the music that has the potential to either be great or to be lost in the annals of time. Most of these bands do not get the credit or following that they deserve so this site is dedicated to you all.
